List every app you have installed

Open the Applications folder in Finder (⇧⌘A) and switch to list view. In Terminal, ls /Applications lists them, one per line with -1.

Without Terminal

  1. In Finder press ⇧⌘A to open Applications.
  2. Press ⌘2 for list view to see them all at once.

In one command

Every app, one per line:

ls -1 /Applications

Just the count:

ls /Applications | wc -l
