Find which version of an app you have

Open the app and choose its name in the menu bar → About. Without opening it, select it in Applications and press ⌘I, or read the version from Terminal with mdls.

Without Terminal

  1. Open the app.
  2. Click the app’s name next to the Apple menu → About.

In one command

Read the version without opening the app:

mdls -name kMDItemVersion /Applications/Safari.app
Or just ask Titan
Which version of Zoom do I have, and is it the latest? Do it with Titan

Titan is an AI that lives on your computer: tell it what you need and it does it while you watch — you press Return, nothing runs by itself. What is Titan?

Titan isn’t on this computer yet. Get Titan, then press the button again — the task will be waiting, typed in.
