Open (unzip) a zip file

Double-click the .zip in Finder and it expands into a folder beside it. From Terminal, ditto -x -k unpacks it into any folder you name.

Without Terminal

  1. Double-click the .zip file in Finder.
  2. A folder with the same name appears beside it.

In one command

Unpack a zip into a folder of your choice:

ditto -x -k archive.zip ~/Desktop/unpacked

A zip that asks for a password needs it — Finder will prompt, or use unzip -P in Terminal.

Or just ask Titan
Unzip the file I just downloaded and open what’s inside. Do it with Titan

Titan is an AI that lives on your computer: tell it what you need and it does it while you watch — you press Return, nothing runs by itself. What is Titan?

Titan isn’t on this computer yet. Get Titan, then press the button again — the task will be waiting, typed in.
