Take a screenshot

Press ⌘⇧4 and drag to capture part of the screen, ⌘⇧3 for the whole screen, or ⌘⇧5 for every option including screen recording. Screenshots land on the Desktop unless you choose another place in ⌘⇧5 → Options.

Without Terminal

  1. ⌘⇧3 — the whole screen.
  2. ⌘⇧4, then drag — part of the screen. Press Space before clicking to capture one window.
  3. ⌘⇧5 — the toolbar, with recording and where to save.
  4. Add Control to any of them to copy to the clipboard instead of saving a file.

In one command

From Terminal, choose an area and save it without the camera sound:

screencapture -i -x ~/Desktop/shot.png
Or just ask Titan
Take a screenshot of this window and put it on my Desktop. Do it with Titan

Titan is an AI that lives on your computer: tell it what you need and it does it while you watch — you press Return, nothing runs by itself. What is Titan?

Titan isn’t on this computer yet. Get Titan, then press the button again — the task will be waiting, typed in.
