See which Wi-Fi network you are on

Click the Wi-Fi icon in the menu bar — the network with the tick is the one you are on. From Terminal, ipconfig getsummary en0 shows it; the older networksetup -getairportnetwork command now wrongly says you are not connected.

Without Terminal

  1. Click the Wi-Fi icon in the menu bar.
  2. The connected network is at the top, highlighted.

In one command

The network name, from Terminal:

ipconfig getsummary en0 | grep " SSID"

Recent system versions hide the network name from some tools for privacy; if the line is empty, the menu bar still shows it.

Or just ask Titan
Which Wi-Fi network am I on? Do it with Titan

Titan is an AI that lives on your computer: tell it what you need and it does it while you watch — you press Return, nothing runs by itself. What is Titan?

Titan isn’t on this computer yet. Get Titan, then press the button again — the task will be waiting, typed in.
