Turn a PDF page into an image
Open the PDF in Preview and use File → Export, choosing PNG or JPEG — Preview exports the page you are on. For a quick image of the first page from Terminal, qlmanage renders one at any size.
Without Terminal
- Open the PDF in Preview and go to the page you want.
- File → Export…
- Choose PNG or JPEG and a resolution, then Save.
In one command
Render the first page as a 1280-pixel PNG in the current folder:
qlmanage -t -s 1280 -o . document.pdfqlmanage renders the first page only; for other pages use Preview’s Export on that page.
