Change a file’s date
touch sets a file’s modified date to any time you give it, written as year, month, day, hour, minute. If the new date is earlier than the file’s created date, the created date moves back with it.

Set it to 15 January 2020, 12:30:
touch -t 202001151230 report.pdfCheck both dates:
stat -f "modified %Sm created %SB" report.pdfThe created date only ever moves earlier this way, never later.
